001 ♡ video/action for New Bark Town  
[The first thing that appears in the screen is a really huge brown eye. So huge in fact, that it fills the entire screen. The eye blinks once, twice, and then it squints. And then suddenly, this huge brown eye begins to talk.]

Eeeh?? I can't see anything!!

[Except, not really. The eye pulls back to show a very perplexed and confused looking girl, trying to look for the man a.k.a the mechanical voice who was speaking earlier about dreams and adventures and the world of Pokémon. And yes, she's very much unaware that the video is going on.]

I think I remember seeing a woman talk to this thing in a television before... maybe I should try it?

[And all of a sudden she bows in front of the PokéGear as if it were a person.]

Hello! My name is Kobato Hanato! It's nice to meet you! I'm not sure how I woke up here, I'm sure I slept in my room... The nice landlady-san who gave me lunch didn't explain anything to me either, and I really don't know what a Pokémon is. [She also holds up a Happiny who smiles in front of the video.] This cute little thing keeps following me around too, and I think it must be lost. Do you know who owns her?

Ah! Anyway it's important that I get back home or else I'm going to be late again! So please answer, Voice-san!! [Kobato smiles and bows again, still blissfully unaware that the feed is still on.]

Was that alright, Ioryogi-san? [She looks around, just suddenly noticing that her companion was nowhere to be seen. A look of panic suddenly forms on her face.] Ioryogi-san...? Ioryogi...

Ioryogi-san!! W-W-Where did you go?! [She flails dramatically, giving a large dramatic gasp as thoughts of more distress begin to flood her mind.] DID I LOSE HIM AGAIN?!? I HAVE TO GO FIND HIM!!!

Ioryogi-sa... [She runs to begin her search for the blue dog, but suddenly slips and falls into the snow. Stupid snow.] Ow, that hurt!!

Um... are we on a boat, Orihime-san? A man told me that we were all on the same boat... and I wasn't quite sure what he meant by that! I don't really see any beaches anywhere too.

Ah, I'd really appreciate that, Orihime-san! Though I hope I'm not going to cause you any trouble. [But she genuinely looks forward to meeting new people! And Momo-san agrees by making more happy Happiny noises.] And Momo-san would really like to meet up with Ayame-san too!

[At Orihime's question, Kobato shakes her head but smiles a little sadly.] Oh, I'm not. It's just that I've lost a very important friend when I came here.

Eh? On... a boat? [ And then-- oh, okay! She gets it now! ] That's an expression, Hanato-san! It means that we're all in the same situation! I-I think he was referring to the whole thing about us not knowing how to escape, being stuck here, and all that--!

No, you wouldn't be troubling us at all! Rangiku-san and I wouldn't mind to have more travelling companions, I think-- I'll have to check with her first, though! [ Ayame's face lights up instantly! ] Ayame-chan's really looking forward to meeting Momo-chan~! There's no way we're not meeting up, okay?

Ah... as in... your friend didn't come with you, or...? [ She hopes she's interpreting this the right way. ]

[BRB TAKING MENTAL NOTES OF THIS IN HER HEAD. So it was an expression! No wonder it didn't make sense to her.]

I-- I understand! But it's... a good thing that we're all in the same situation, right? It means we can understand each other's feelings and help each other out!

[Oh Kobato, ever the optimist. She smiles and gives a big nod to Orihime, her Happiny mimicking her actions.] Alright then! I hope it'll be okay with Rangiku-san. Momo-san looks really excited already!

And ah, I mean, I think I lost him when I arrived here! Or maybe I forgot about him again. You see, this friend of mine is really small and sometimes I drop him - but I don't mean to! - and now he's not here with me and I'm really worried because he might get mad at me again.

Mhm, you're right! Though... not everyone's searching for a way out. Some people are just going along with whatever happens. Most of the people I've talked to though are trying to think of solutions.

Rangiku-san's really nice, and fun to be around! [ Gives a reassuring thumbs-up! ] I'm sure she'll be okay with it!

[ She nods. Okay, this makes things a little easier to explain. ] Ah, well, this place... takes people in as individuals, not as pairs or groups. Your friend is probably back at home, Hanato-san.

Really? How come? Don't people miss their homes? [She pauses, thinking this over.] But I guess it's also like a vacation, in a way! Especially since Mac-san told me that time stops when we arrive here... right?

[Looks really surprised at what Orihime says-- but at the same time, a little relieved that that might be the case, because it meant she didn't lose Ioryogi-san here.] B-but why? We're always together! It's... it's a little strange not having him here... even if he gets mad at me a lot...

[ Truthfully, this is far from a vacation for Orihime. But she doesn't want to crush Kobato's optimism- especially not when she just got here- so she'll nod and give her a reassuring grin. ] A vacation, right- an exciting one, at that! For some people, Johto is a lot more... hospitable than their homes are, so that's probably why they aren't really thinking about leaving.

That's what we're all trying to figure out, Hanato-san. Nobody knows why we were brought here alone. [ A small pause as she tries to think of a way to cheer Kobato up a bit... ] But don't worry, Hanato-san! There are tons of friendly people here, a-and even if you miss your friend, you won't ever be alone!

Oh... I understand. [And she does understand, a little bit, when she stops to think about it. Maybe some people had scarred hearts or lots of problems back in their homes, and they wanted to start anew in this strange place.]

And I guess you're right, Orihime-san! [A smile begins to form on her face.] I have Momo-san and I... I'm going to try and make lots of friends here!

W-Well, I wouldn't worry too much about those people, because we'll have a fun time here, right Hanato-san? [ Stay optimistic, Orihime! You can do it! ]

It's not hard to, believe me! I made a lot of new friends here already and I've only been here for a month or so~! [ Nods reassuringly! If Orihime could make friends, a sweet girl like Kobato won't have much trouble making friends here, either. ]
